Edinburgh Paving & Landscaping Ltd
We’re the landscaper Edinburgh homeowners call for complete garden makeovers: porcelain and sandstone patios, new turf and artificial grass, decking, fencing, walls, steps and driveways, all built by our own team.
Edinburgh Paving & Landscaping Ltd designs and builds outdoor spaces across Edinburgh and the Lothians, from tired back gardens that need a complete rethink to front gardens that need somewhere to park. Every project starts with a free site visit: we look at the space, talk through what you want from it, take measurements and follow up with a detailed written quote.
We concentrate on hard landscaping and lawns rather than general building, so the parts you never see get as much care as the finish – proper excavation, a compacted sub-base, falls that carry water away from the house and drainage where the ground needs it.
Customers regularly mention Michael by name in their reviews, for the ideas he brings to the first visit and for keeping them updated while the work is under way. And there’s no deposit to find: you pay when the job is complete.
Everything you need for a better garden or driveway, planned and built by one local team.

All 37 of our Google reviews are five stars. Here are a few of them, summarised in our own words.
Really pleased with our new driveway. Michael kept us in the loop throughout, and his suggestions improved on our original plan.
Great ideas from the first visit, a team that worked hard even in wet weather, and everything left clean at the end of each day.
They completely transformed our garden. Reliable, tidy and very skilled – the result is better than we had imagined.
Another contractor left our driveway unfinished. Michael’s team turned it around: reliable, professional and a quality finish.
They fitted in an urgent job at short notice, worked quickly and I’m really happy with the result.
They explained the plan for the work in detail before starting and left a great job. Would definitely recommend.

Answers to the questions we’re asked most often about landscaping, patios and driveways in Edinburgh.
Every garden is different, so we don’t publish set prices. The cost depends on the size of the area, how much needs digging out and taking away, access, levels and drainage, and the materials you choose. We’ll visit, measure up and give you a detailed written quote free of charge, with no obligation to go ahead.

Most back-garden patios don’t need planning permission. New hard surfacing at the front of a house is usually allowed if it’s permeable or drains onto a lawn or border within your property, and a new dropped kerb always needs approval from the council. Different rules can apply to flats, listed buildings and properties in conservation areas — which cover much of central Edinburgh — so check with the City of Edinburgh Council if that applies to you. We’ll flag anything worth checking when we survey.
Yes, we work all year round. Weather can affect the schedule for some jobs — resin bound surfaces, for example, can’t be laid below 5°C or in heavy rain — so we keep an eye on the forecast and plan the work around the milder, drier days.
We cover the whole City of Edinburgh and the Lothians, including Leith, Portobello, Morningside, Corstorphine, Dalkeith, Musselburgh and Livingston. See our coverage page for the full list of areas we regularly work in.
Yes. We’re fully insured, and we provide a written workmanship warranty on our installations. The materials we use also carry their manufacturers’ own warranties. We’ll confirm the exact terms for your project when we quote.
A gardener looks after an existing garden with jobs like mowing, pruning and weeding. A landscaper changes or builds the garden itself: patios, paths, lawns, walls, steps, decking, fencing and driveways. We’re a landscaping company that specialises in this construction work rather than regular garden maintenance.
